SINGING: Typically for 17 and over and PIANO, VIOLIN: taught to all ages
SINGING: Typically for 17 and over. For beginners – breathing; posture; controlled supply of air to the vocal chords; resonance in the head and chest. For the more advanced, we will work at evenness of tone, freeing the jaw, improving the control of the soft palate, using the tongue for vowel sounds, not letting the consonants interfere with vowels, etc.
I will also work on words and the meaning and drama behind them, and the way that affects the sounds you might want to produce.
I offer a free half-hour initial consultation.

Specialist in bel canto singing technique. Her first passion for literature led her to study Classics and English at St John’s College, Oxford, where she graduated with first class honours and was awarded the Passmore Edwards Prize. She went on to study singing at the Royal College of Music, London, and left when she was offered the opportunity to join the chorus of Welsh National Opera .
She remains a committed soloist for WNO MAX, for whom she recently revived the new commission A Real Princess in venues across England and Wales, featured in Opera Now and Critics Choice in The Guardian. Laura has a flair for workshopping and helping devise new opera, having worked with composers such as Stephen McNeff and Richard Barnard.
We are privileged to have such talented singing teacher. I know this first hand as Laura has been teaching my daughter for over five years and she has developed so incredibly well, not just in technique, but in confidence. An outstanding teacher and a lovely role model for any child wishing to develop their voice.
