I’ve lived in Cambridge for over 20 years and some of these money saving offers I only discovered relatively late on. And it was very frustrating, so I’m writing this to make sure that you know exactly what’s on offer as a resident.
It’s lovely that we live in this beautiful historic city, but life is expensive, especially the treats such as punting. These great money saving offers are available to the residents of Cambridge.
A Residents Card
They cost £10 and are valid for 3 years, you can have 4 per household and you can visit Kings College for free. Get a residents card
Punting Season Ticket
How many times have you had visitors and suggested punting and picnic, only to be put off by the cost? Punting is expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. Scudamore’s have a fantastic scheme that runs from 1st March to the 30th September, the Scudamore season ticket. The price includes punts, canoes and kayaks. Excellent value if you love spending time on the river and great for families with children of all ages.
Pay and Play
This card is valid for all the public swimming pools. You get 30% discount, more with concessions, plus adult residents can take advantage of subsidised swimming lessons at the Abbey and Parkside pools. Pay & play card
Cantab Hash House Harriers
They call themselves a “drinking club with a running problem” Join them on a Monday at 7pm at the St Radegund Pub in King Street. It’s free, it’s fun and for people of all levels of fitness. HHH
